Principal Darren KawaiiDarren Kawaii, Principal
At Rosa Parks Since 2017. Loves the Rosa Parks community and enjoys working with students and families. A San Francisco native; he loves sports of all kinds and loves spending weekends with his wife and son. His favorite flavor of ice-cream is coffee.

At Rosa Parks since 2006. She loves watching the students grow, learn and fulfill their potential to be amazing people and seeing what a difference a great team can make in the lives of children. She loves reading, spending time with friends and family, doing crafts and practicing Buddhism. Her favorite flavor of ice-cream is peach or strawberry.

At Rosa Parks since 2010. Loves the diversity and multicultural backgrounds at Rosa Parks. She loves yoga, pilates and zumba and when she is not working out she likes reading Harry Potter. Her favorite flavor of ice-cream is vanilla.

At Rosa Parks since 2008. Loves teaching at Rosa Parks because the students are diverse and unique and she learns something new every day. Hobbies include playing sports with her children and trying new recipes. Her favorite flavor of ice-cream is thai tea.

At Rosa Parks since 2006. She loves teaching at Rosa Parks because of the diversity and loves seeing the light in her student's eyes when they learn something new. She loves traveling, reading and eating. Her favorite flavor of ice-cream is green tea.

At Rosa Parks since 2006. Loves that at Rosa Parks, all the students and adults come to learn about each others’ cultures. She likes to do sudoku, read the Bible, sew and knit. Her favorite flavor of ice-cream is chocolate mocha.

At Rosa Parks since 2006. Loves Rosa Parks because it is diverse, friendly and fun and believes he has the greatest job in the world. Hobbies include playing with his daughter Aashna, reading, music, karate and mountain biking. His favorite flavor of ice-cream is chocolate peanut butter swirl.

At Rosa Parks since 2011. Loves being at a school with such an inspiring namesake as it reminds her that we all have a responsibility to strive to make the world better. Hobbies include knitting, reading, cooking veggies, and hiking. Her favorite flavor of ice-cream is coffee.

At Rosa Parks since 2006. She loves seeing happy, smiling kids and seeing kids improve after they have struggled or worked hard on something. And the great families and staff at the school. Hobbies include eating, baking, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Her favorite flavor of ice-cream is salted caramel.

At Rosa Parks since 2006, He loves observing the funny things kids do and getting a glimpse of the world through their eyes. And he loves working and talking with his colleagues at Rosa Parks. He loves all things music, operas, reading and finance. His favorite flavor of ice-cream depends on what he just ate! 

 

Carol Fields, GE 4th Grade Carol Fields, 4th grade STEAM, Rm 300
At Rosa Parks since 2011 (also here 06-09). Loves Rosa Parks for the students. In her free time she likes playing/listening to music, dancing, going to cultural events and swimming. She is more of a sorbet person than ice-cream and likes savory flavors like basil and mint.

Erin MirandaErin Miranda, 4th/5th grade JBBP, Rm 302
At Rosa Parks since 2015. Loves all the ways we celebrate together as a community, from Rajio Taiso and the Cha-Cha Slide to Salad Days. Studied hula for 11 years and hopes to go back to it one day and her favorite flavor of ice-cream is pralines and cream.

 

Lindsay ChuLindsay Chu, 5th grade, JBBP, Rm 303
At Rosa Parks since 2017. Loves teaching to help people achieve their goals and loves Rosa Parks’ welcoming and supportive community. She's an avid sports fan and loves her TV shows everyday of the week. Fun fact: She has been tap-dancing since she was 3 years old!

Yuka Inoue, JBBP Sensei Kindergarten Yuka Inoue, Kindergarten
At Rosa Parks since 2007. She is pleased to be teaching Japanese to students at Rosa Parks. It is a challenge she enjoys very much; her goal is to help build a bridge between America and Japan. When she is not working, she loves to play sports. Her favorite flavor of ice-cream is espresso w/ almonds.

Teaches 2nd graders about dance and music from around the world. Students learn the fundamentals of dance movement as well as authentic classical and folkloric dances appropriate for children.

An interdisciplinary program that integrates live music performances and related music education experience. AIM includes in-school presentations and a visit to Davies Symphony Hall for a private concert by the San Francisco Symphony.

Dr. Anthony Brown
Noted jazz musician and composer, Dr. Anthony Brown,  teaches poetry and jazz to student and takes the 3rd grade classes on walks in the Fillmore and Japantown historic areas to share history of both communities.

 

Alphabet Rockers.png Alphabet Rockers
Provides energetic, educational, hip programming for K and 5th grade. The program will feature original, award-winning music, beatboxing, fun and easy to learn dance moves and interactive theatrical programming aligned to Common Core Standards.
